Danielle is my husbands cousin from Nashville! When we have family gatherings all we do is take out our cameras and talk about photography! She’s pretty awesome and talented in so many ways! She’s extremely artistic and paints beautiful art! I’ve been pushing her for several years now to take on photography because she so creative and smart! Im glad to see her pursuing it!! She came to see me for a weekend and we had a blast! We went on a small portrait session where I was able to show her a few poses and lighting tricks! Ive seen her recent shoots and they are awesome! Im so proud of her!

I felt like a child in a candy shop for sure. Everywhere I turned I was snapping away. I was one of the lucky 12 to go on this trip. I could not have asked for a better group to share this trip with, beside my family of course but they are next to family for me! I love this group to pieces! So I’m splitting this trip into 2 parts because I took so many dang pictures. The blog shows a timeline of our first few days from landing in Prague to visiting Plzen Czech Republic. I hope you fall in love with the beauty of these places!

This is how I fell in love with photography several years ago…finding beauty in the simple things and using light as my primary guide….

I would find myself taking pictures of random things for hours…this is where I learned composition, lighting, perspective and the overwhelming joy of photography!! From tea cups to fruit and vibrant autumn leaves came a dream to capture not only the still world around me but to capture life. I’m so thrilled to be able to wake up daily to the idea that I do this!!!  So in sharing all this…here is a few still life images I took recently! I learned how to make fabric flowers!!! Very easy…. this will add a little personal touch for all my clients…. a little hand made gift from me!

Im constantly challenge and inspired by my wonderful contacts on flickr to think outside of the norm. A year ago the thought of photographing still life objects was boring and a wast of time. Did not understand why anyone would do it..hahah! Now a year later..I’m in LOVE with the idea. I love taking the simple things in life that we so often neglect and portray them in a new way, through composition or editing.
